Peñarroya-Pueblonuevo is at the heart of the Alto-Guadiato Valley in the northwest of the Córdoba province. The congregation unites believers from Espiel (30km east), Fuente Obejuna (15km west) and Azuaga (40km west). In this last town there is an Evangelical Church which serves a small Spanish "gitano" congregation. The closest church is in Pozoblanco and there is a mission point in Hinojosa del Duque. The believers therefore come together from a wide variety of Evangelical church backgrounds.
The congregation has been known in the town for more than 30 years. We have a church building since 1999 which was rebuilt in 2014. However, the need is still urgent to reach out in the town as well as in the other towns in the Valley.
The missionary couple are developing future leadership from their base in Azuaga whilst maintaining the ministry in Peñarroya.
Christians with gifts in evangelism, discipleship or leadership development may find a place here as we wait on the Lord to build his church.
